The 3BH2 project:
A blueprint for a truly circular economy

From unused forest biomass waste to carbon negative green hydrogen
Where else than Latin America could we have found a more appropriate, resourceful place to implant Swiss-made top-end technology for maximum environmental and societal impact ?
That’s the guiding question behind 3BH2, Arvel Innovation’s flagship project in Chile’s Biobío region. Surrounded by vast cultivated forests, leading pulp & paper industries and a dense network of refineries, steel and chemical plants, the project leverages waste biomass to produce green hydrogen, biochar and captured biogenic CO₂. More than a plant, 3BH2 is designed as a circular ecosystem: transforming industrial residues into clean energy, decarbonising local processes, enabling hydrogen-powered mobility, and creating green jobs and training opportunities through academic partnerships with Swiss and Chilean Universities...
Clean Energy Mobility
Sustainable Solutions for utility vehicles
Finding solutions to implement an H2 Fuel Cell solution by retrofitting existing electric powered utility vehicles, expanding their autonomy and increasing their potential carry load.
THE STUDY
Power To Hydrogen: Energy storage and other potential applications
Large scale international study around H2
Aiming to accelerate the global green hydrogen economy by leveraging renewable resources (solar and wind).
-
Objective: Select a private partner to design, finance, build, and operate a hydrogen production facility using renewable electricity.
-
Scope: The project should demonstrate large-scale hydrogen production, with potential integration into ammonia, fertilizers, mobility, or export markets.
-
Evaluation Criteria: Technical robustness, financial viability, scalability, contribution to the world hydrogen roadmap, and capacity to foster local industrial development and job creation.
-
Strategic Goal: Position chosen countries as competitive global players in green hydrogen production, export, and downstream applications.
